The KD900X LD+ is tailored for the marathon, and the KIPSTORM LAB is specifically engineered for the elite runners to crush records from 5K to half marathon.
“Superpowers” for KIPRUN’s Elite Athletes Thanks to New Technologies
The KIPSTORM LAB introduces two groundbreaking patented technologies designed to push the limits of running shoe performance: a J-shaped carbon plate and the VFOAM X midsole, created with a new advanced foaming process.
The J-shaped carbon plate, developed by KIPRUN, is engineered to maximize energy return, enhance stability, and reduce weight. Thanks to the advanced manufacturing process, the plate is integrated at the very start of production, encapsulated between two midsole layers of different densities. This specific construction positions the plate exactly where it delivers the greatest benefit, working in harmony with the foams to ensure optimal cushioning and propulsion.
Separately, the VFOAM X midsole combines two foam layers through an advanced process that fuses them with the plate in a single operation. At its core lies a PEBA-based foam named FeatherBounce weighing just 28 grams, providing exceptional lightness, comfort, and energy return. Surrounding it, a second layer of high-density SCF-made TPU foam, forms a robust shell that delivers structure, stability, and long-lasting performance at only 50 grams.
Together, these innovations achieve a remarkable milestone: a total shoe weight of just 167 grams (size 42), without any compromise on performance, cushioning, or durability.
Already Breaking Records
The KIPSTORM LAB is already proving its worth. It was worn by Jimmy Gressier during his European 5K record in Lille in March 2025, where he completed the race in 12:57, setting a new historic benchmark.
The KIPSTORM LAB built with one core mission: to be the lightest shoe on the market. At just 167g in size 42, it stands among the top shoes from international brands. Its dynamism is exceptional and beyond what the KD900X LD+ achieved.
