Decathlon Now Offers Cash for Bikes as Part of Its Buy Back Service.

‘Buy Back’ service at Decathlon now allows customers to turn bikes and other unwanted sporting equipment into cash in as little as an hour, alongside gift cards

Any brand of equipment can be returned with as much as 45% of the original value available after assessment

EASTER SPECIAL: Get an extra 20% bonus in value when choosing a gift card for your trade-in + every Buy Back customer during Easter weekend is entered to win one of five £1,000 vouchers.

Products are refurbished and resold through the Second Life range to ensure no waste is created - with over 10,000 products bought back to date!

Decathlon customers can now trade in unwanted or outgrown bikes and receive instant money back for the first time in a move that is good for both customers’ pockets and the planet. With exclusive high-value perks are launching just in time for the Easter holidays to help families get ready for a summer of riding.

Rather than letting an old bike sit unused, gathering dust in the shed, customers can bring it into any UK Decathlon store where experts will assess its condition and offer an instant quote. To make the process even faster, Decathlon has introduced a "quick quote" tool online, allowing customers to see an estimated value - often up to 45% of the original retail price - before completing a full sign-up.

For 2026, Decathlon is now introducing a one-hour bank transfer payment option, giving customers actual cash for their gear. Alternatively, those looking to maximise their value for additional sports equipment can choose a gift car for use in store or online. Boosted by an additional 20% bonus on top of their trade-in value from the 30th March – 12th April.

With any customer completing a Buy Back in-store over the Easter weekend (Friday 3rd - Monday 6th April) entered into a competition to win one of five £1,000 Decathlon vouchers.

All brands are accepted within the service, from Specialized and Trek to local shop brands. Customers just need to be a Decathlon member at the time of exchange, which is quick, easy, and free to join

The scheme, part of Decathlon’s ongoing commitment to circularity, is designed to tackle sporting waste, with products from up to 15 sports being able to be returned including fitness equipment, racquet sports, golf, horse riding, GPS watches, camping gear, kayaks, paddleboards and more.

Products that are returned will be serviced and refurbished by Decathlon experts before being resold through the Second Life range at a reduced price, helping to make sport more accessible to more people and building the circular economy of sports products.

Since Buy Back launched in 2023, more than 10,000 items have been returned and the service has seen a surge in popularity as UK consumers increasingly look to the circular economy to fund their active lifestyles. In the last year alone, specific searches for bike buy-backs skyrocketed by as much as 300% as commuters and families seek out smarter ways to upgrade their gear.

Chris Allen, Sustainability Leader at Decathlon UK & Ireland comments: “This year, our Buy Back service offers customers instant cash for their unwanted or outgrown bikes, helping their pockets as well as our planet. With our new one-hour bank transfer and special Easter bonuses, we are providing the flexibility and value needed to turn unused gear into new adventures".
